Tales for Rescue Readers
Reading Program

This unique reading program helps both kids and animals deal with their respective challenges. Children in the program learn empathy towards animals while practicing their reading skills in an encouraging environment. There is a benefit to the child in that they have somebody who is listening to them read without any judgment or criticism. The cats and dogs are learning social skills that will help them get adopted, and the child is learning to care about animals.

Tales for Rescue Readers was originally created to assist autistic children with reading challenges in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Due to the huge success of the program, the Prince George Humane Society will be expanding the program to all children irrespective of their reading level or challenges.

Cost per child:

Top Dog $5.00 (This is valued for one drop-in. Your child will receive a fillable reading log)
