Thank you for your interest in the Prince George Humane Society Tales for Rescue Readers reading program! We are proud to be able to educate and encourage care and compassion for all creatures. This unique reading program helps both kids and animals deal with their respective challenges. Children in the program learn empathy towards animals while practicing their reading skills in an encouraging environment. There is a benefit to the child in that they have somebody who is listening to them read without any judgment or criticism. The cats and dogs are learning social skills that will help them get adopted; and the child is learning to care about animals.
